Switching Between Applications

To switch between applications, press Alt + Tab. This will switch between the two recently used open applications.
If you hold down Alt and keep it held down. Then keep pressing the Tab key and it will cycle between all open applications. Let go of both keys when you find the one you want.
I find this particularly useful when I want to make sure I have closed all applications before shutting down my PC.
There is also the Windows + Tab shortcut.
This first appeared in Windows Vista, but was just a “pretty” version of Alt + Tab.
In Windows 10, it now has more useful functionality; pressing Windows + Tab will give you a grid view of all your open applications, and you can use the Arrow keys to pick the one that you want to switch to, and press Enter.
If you press Windows + Tab and keep Arrowing down, you will find a load of recent file history.
