Screen Reader Shortcuts in Google Meet

There are a few special shortcuts for screen reader users to help you in a Google Meet meeting.
To find out who is currently speaking, press Control + Alt + S.
To change how you want to hear reactions (such as thumbs up, clapping hands etc), press Shift + R. You can choose between the following options:

  • Play a sound when someone reacts.
  • Announce reactions.
  • Announce reactions with sender.

Note: At time of testing, we found that these specific shortcuts worked most consistently in Google Chrome using JAWS screen reader.
