Word documents can be many, many pages long, so it is helpful to move around as efficiently as possible. And there are a series of keyboard shortcuts to achieve this.
Generally, use the Arrows, Page Up, Page Down, Home and End keys.
Then add Control to move in larger increments.
Left/Right Arrow – Move the cursor to the previous/next character.
Up/Down Arrow – Move the cursor to the previous/next line.
Control + Left/Right Arrow – Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous/next word.
Control + Up/Down Arrow – Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous/next paragraph.
Page Up – Move the cursor up one screen.
Page Down – Move the cursor down one screen.
Control + Page Up/Page Down – Move the cursor to the top of the previous/next page.
Home – Move the cursor to the beginning of the current line.
End – Move the cursor to the end of the current line.
Control + Home/End – Moves the cursor to the beginning/end of the document.
Note: the Home, End, Page Up and Page Down keys are within a set of six keys usually positioned above the arrow keys on a standard desktop keyboard. Laptop keyboard layouts may vary.
