Live Captions

Live captions is a relatively recent addition to Windows 11, that automatically transcribes spoken words into text, in real time. This feature has been designed to assist people who are deaf or hard of hearing to give access to audio content. Live captions will turn any audio that passes through your PC into a text feed displayed at the top of the screen, including video and audio files, YouTube content and even your own voice (when using a microphone).
To start live captioning press Control + Windows + L.
In the Live Caption window, you can Tab to Settings, where you can change the position on the screen, the language and the style of the captions.
To end live captions, focus on the live caption window (Alt + Tab) and close it (Alt + F4).
Note: When you first use live captions, the feature will prompt you to download the required files for speech recognition. Also note, if you want your voice to be captioned, this must be enabled in the Settings in the Live Caption window (Include microphone audio).
