Insert a Link in Gmail

When composing an email message, you may want to add a link.
You can go to the Web page for the link, and copy the full URL from the address bar (Alt + D and Control + C). Then you go to your new message and you usually just paste it in (Control + V).
But, before you paste it in, try pressing Control + K, and you get the option to type in some link text, which may be more understandable than the actual full URL.
Then press Tab twice and paste in the URL itself.
Finally, Tab to OK and press Enter.
The link is displayed as your chosen link text and it points to the full URL.
Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox work the same as Google Chrome for inserting a link.
