Focus on Address Bar

The address bar refers to the text field in a Web browser that identifies where you are on the Web, and allows you to specify where you want to go. The address bar is also known as a location bar, search bar or even the omnibox (?!).
When you open a new browser tab, Chrome places you in the address bar. Here you can type search words or a full Web address (URL).
To get to the address bar at any point, press Alt + D or Control + L or F6.
This will also highlight all the text, so you can type in something new without having to clear the address bar.
To cancel and focus back on the Web page, press F6. You may have to press this a few times to get back to the Web page, depending on your setup in Chrome.
