When you schedule a meeting in Outlook and people start to join the meeting, they are usually admitted into a “lobby”, which is a virtual waiting area.
This gives the meeting organizer some control over the start of the meeting and is a good way of making sure that participants are acknowledged and welcomed to the meeting, rather than everyone joining at once.
There is a notification when someone is in the lobby, and you can press Control + Shift + Y to admit them into the meeting.
If you are a screen reader user, you will know this already because all screen readers announce when someone is in the lobby, and then proceed to tell you the shortcut to use!
