Searsol’s Summer Touch Typing course in Clane

A picture of the TypeHands typing tutor by SearsolFollowing on from a successful term of New After School Touch Typing classes, and due to popular demand, Searsol Touch Typing classes are running from end of July to end of August. A fast track course with flexibility to allow for holidays!

The Searsol course is specifically designed to teach touch typing to children in a classroom environment with a trained tutor. The purpose of Searsol’s after school touch typing course is to provide an environment to help develop the typing skills of students while, at the same time, increasing their level of confidence, self-esteem and motivation. Touch typing skills are useful to everyone that uses a computer! But they are particularly useful for students with learning differences such as dyslexia and dyspraxia, and the course is designed with these learners in mind.

Breathing Place Yoga Studio
Clane
Co. Kildare

Course Time:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4pm or 5pm
Classes are 45 minutes

Cost:
15 euro per class
First Class Free!

Without the Mouse Workshops in Dublin

July 2017

This summer, Sharon’s Shortcuts ran some hands-on, practical workshops in association with the NCBI Training Centre in Dublin.

These workshops are primarily aimed at people with sight loss, but they are open to anyone that wishes to improve their keyboarding skills when working on a PC.

The workshops ran on two Saturday mornings and afternoons in July.

The first two workshops took place on 15th July:
Saturday 15th July 11am to 1pm – Windows 10 Tweaks: Making your laptop more useable
Saturday 15th July 2pm to 4pm – Email for Beginners: Accessing Messages with Thunderbird/Outlook or Web-Based Gmail

The second two workshops took place on 22nd July:
Saturday 22nd July 11am to 1pm – Browsing the Web
Saturday 22nd July 2pm to 4pm – Using Facebook or Skype (depending on demand)
