Alt + F4 versus Control + W

posted in: Shortcut of the Week | 0

Alt + F4 will close pretty much everything, but it is not the handiest keyboard shortcut to use (at first anyway).
Control + W will close File Explorer, but also:

  • It will close one Word document without closing the Word application, and does the same in other Microsoft applications.
  • It will close one Tab in most browsers (such as Chrome), without closing the Web browser application.
