Accessing the Taskbar

posted in: Shortcut of the Week | 1

Pressing Windows + T gives access to the Taskbar.
The Taskbar contains a list of all the current open folders or applications. You can use the left and right arrow keys to move through them and then press Enter to bring the selected folder/application into focus.
There may also be some specific Microsoft shortcuts, such as Edge, Documents, Store and Mail, on the Taskbar. This depends on your setup, your Windows version and any customising you may have done.
You can also use the number keys to focus on any open applications or Microsoft shortcuts. For example, on my setup in Windows 10 just now, pressing Windows + 1 opens the Edge browser, Windows + 2 opens File Explorer, Windows + 3 opens Microsoft store, Windows + 4 opens Microsoft Mail, Windows + 5 focuses on Outlook, Windows + 6 focuses on Google Chrome.
